Bandai's Vendor Business Department, in collaboration with Morita Corporation, has released a unique miniature dental chair, the "1/12 Signo T300." This detailed replica, scaled down to one-twelfth of the actual Signo T300 dental chair, was launched on April 7, 2023, and is available online at "Gashapon Online" and in capsule toy vending machines nationwide. The miniature, developed in cooperation with Morita Corporation, a major domestic manufacturer and seller of dental chairs, recreates the patient chair and surrounding equipment used in dental clinics across Japan.
The "1/12 Signo T300" features a movable patient chair and parts for dental hygienists and dentists, allowing users to simulate the actions performed during dental treatments. The inspiration for this project stemmed from an interest in the workings of dental chairs and their associated tools, despite a personal dislike for dental visits. The idea was to create a miniature chair that would fully explain the mechanisms of a dental chair.
This innovative miniature aims to change the common perception of dentists in Japan, often associated with pain and the fear-inducing sound of dental drills. By focusing on the design and functionality of the Signo T300, the developers hope to make dental visits more approachable and interesting, potentially transforming public attitudes toward dental care.
