Morita and Bandai Launch Second Capsule Toy Dental Unit

Morita Corporation, in partnership with Bandai, has introduced the second edition of its highly detailed capsule toy—a 1/12 scale model of the dental unit Signo T500. This follows the successful release of the Signo T300 model last year, highlighting the continued collaboration between these two major Japanese companies in bringing detailed professional equipment models to a wider public.

Details of the Signo T500 Capsule Toy

The Signo T500 model was developed by the renowned designer Tsuneyuki Homma from Bandai, who is noted for his work on various successful capsule toy series such as the "Dangomushi" series. The Signo T500 is designed with adjustable features, including a patient chair that moves forward, backward, up, and down, and parts attached to cords that mimic the movement of tools used during dental procedures.

Innovative Design and Features

This latest model comes with several modifications including a unique body color, the shape of the footrest, and the design of the light, making it a faithful reproduction of the actual dental unit. The toy comprises three parts: the dental chair, dental hygienist side, and dentist side, which together recreate a comprehensive dental treatment scenario.

Collectible Aspect and Availability

Released in the third week of April 2024, the Signo T500 is available across various capsule toy vending machines nationwide at 800 yen per play, tax included. Despite its novelty, the online reservations for this model have already sold out, indicating its popularity and collectible value among enthusiasts.

Morita’s Historical Contribution to Dental Care

Known for introducing the world’s first horizontal dental treatment system, Morita has consistently aimed to create user-friendly environments that center around human needs in dental settings.
